Connectivity is the Key
If 2020 taught us anything it’s that connectivity is the name of the game. We’ve been forced to be apart but we’ve been able to stay connected. For the commercial real estate sector of office space, this has been a bit of a moment of reckoning. Companies discovered that teams no longer needed to be in the same office full-time in order to maintain productivity. Thus downsizing office space, eliminating locations and investing in technology to further enable remote connectivity was a common play in 2020. Now that the new normal begins to morph into the simply normal, the future of office space is uncertain. While it’s not going anywhere and businesses will continue to need offices, office building owners may face a tougher time filling vacant space.
